R-net CJSM-L-SW Colour joystick module D50982

The R-net CJSM-L-SW Colour D50982 is an original PG Drives Technology joystick module for powered wheelchairs equipped with an R-net control system.

The joystick module features a Colour LCD display and is used to control driving, powered seating functions and, depending on the wheelchair configuration, lighting.

The CJSM-L-SW features two 3.5 mm jack sockets on the underside of the joystick module. Each socket has a specific function:

• External On/Off Switch Jack – for connecting an external on/off switch, such as a buddy button.
• External Profile Switch Jack – for selecting a different drive profile using an external switch, such as a buddy button.

Depending on the system configuration, the External Profile Switch Jack can also be used as an Emergency Stop Switch. This applies when the R-net system is configured for, among other things, latched drive or actuator control operation. In this situation, the operation and polarity of the input are determined by the system configuration.

Plug & play replacement

The CJSM-L-SW D50982 can be used as a direct replacement for a faulty joystick module within an existing R-net system.

When connected, the joystick module automatically receives its configuration from the R-net power module. No additional programming of the joystick module is therefore required when replacing an existing module.

After replacement, we recommend checking the operation of the system. Check the driving function as well as all functions available on the particular wheelchair, such as powered seating functions, lighting and any connected external switches.

Replacement for the older monochrome JSM-L-SW

The R-net joystick module was previously available with a monochrome display under the type designation JSM-L-SW. The current Colour version has the type designation CJSM-L-SW.

The monochrome JSM-L-SW is no longer manufactured. The CJSM-L-SW Colour D50982 can be used as a direct replacement for this older monochrome version.

This makes the D50982 particularly suitable when an older R-net wheelchair is still equipped with a monochrome JSM-L-SW and the joystick module needs to be replaced.

Check the part number before ordering

Several versions of R-net joystick modules and control units are available. Their type designations can be very similar, while the connections and functions may differ.

When replacing a joystick module, we therefore recommend checking the part number of the existing unit.

Important when using the jack sockets

When no external switch is connected, the supplied rubber bungs must be inserted into the jack sockets.

Depending on the system configuration, the External Profile Switch Jack may provide both profile selection and an Emergency Stop function. Always check the configured function of the R-net system when connecting or replacing an external switch.
