Drive Protection Cover – Van Raam Fun2Go 2

The Van Raam Fun2Go duo bike is used by a wide range of users, from occasional recreational rides to frequent daily use. In practice, there is a substantial group of users who operate these bikes intensively, often under varying weather and road conditions. Through our long-term involvement with professional and organisational users, we have gained extensive insight into how the Fun2Go is used in real-life situations.

During intensive use, especially on wet or contaminated roads, the drive system underneath the bike is exposed to dirt, moisture and road debris. Over time, this can affect the condition of the chain and sprockets and increase maintenance requirements.

Based on these practical experiences, this drive protection cover has been developed specifically for the Van Raam Fun2Go 2. The set consists of a metal mounting frame, a plastic protective cover and an extra-large mud flap for the front wheel. The frame is mounted using existing fixing points in the bicycle frame, allowing straightforward installation without any modification to the bike.

The supplied mud flap plays an important role in the overall protection. In everyday use it has been observed that spray and debris from the front wheel contribute significantly to contamination of the rear drive components, particularly in wet conditions. By limiting this at the source, the chain and sprockets are better protected.

Together, the protective cover and mud flap help shield the drive system from road-related influences, reducing contamination and contributing to a longer service life of both chain and sprockets, especially in cases of frequent or intensive use.

Note: This protection cover is only suitable for the Van Raam Fun2Go 2 (models from summer 2023 onwards) and is not compatible with earlier Fun2Go models. The protection cover can not be combined with the van Raam footplate option.
