The AbleNet Big Yellow Switch (officially Big Buddy Button Yahoo Yellow) is a robust pushbutton switch with a very large activation surface of approximately Ø115 mm, designed for users who benefit from a clearly visible and easy-to-reach control point. The generous surface area makes the Big Yellow suitable for users with limited precision, larger movement patterns, or reduced motor control.

The Big Yellow is commonly used in assistive technology and AAC solutions (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), for example on work surfaces, tables, or fixed installations where there is sufficient space for one prominent switch. Clear tactile and audible feedback ensures reliable and predictable activation.

Within wheelchair applications, the Big Yellow is primarily applied for a single specific function, such as activating one auxiliary control. Due to its physical size, the use of multiple Big Yellow switches side by side is generally impractical, particularly on compact trays or control panels.

When used in combination with switch interfaces or RBI modules (Remote Button Interface), the Big Yellow is best suited for simple and clearly structured configurations where one distinct switch is preferred over multiple smaller buttons.

The switch is equipped with a 3.5 mm mono connector, making it compatible with most switch interfaces, communication devices, and wheelchair modules. Its robust construction supports intensive daily use.
